In his blog "Blog Maverick," Cuban explained that there is nothing wrong with getting rich and "enjoying the shit out of your money." Cuban further states that if you are rich, paying taxes is a patriotic thing as you are supporting your fellow American who might not be as fortunate as you are. Cuban in the same post would praise government intervention in the economy, such as during the Great Recession, stating, "we don’t live in a perfect time. We live in a time where the government plays a big role in an effort to help lead us out this Great Recession.
