Separatism is portrayed as patriotic and overzealous, but towards the nation that they believe should separate, not the nation that currently controls his land. They are quick to criticize anyone who suggests that their land is a part of another nation or that they citizens are citizens of a 'foreign' country. For example, they display a behavior akin to what [[File:Cball-Quebec.png]] Québécois nationalists would do if someone called them [[File:Cball-Canada.png]] Canadian, or what a [[File:Cball-Catalonia-Estelada.png]] Catalan nationalist would do if someone called them [[File:Cball-Spain.png]] Spanish, or if someone suggested that [[File:Cball-Quebec.png]] Québec was simply a province of [[File:Cball-Canada.png]] Canada or if someone called [[File:Cball-Catalonia.png]] Catalonia a region of [[File:Cball-Spain.png]] Spain. Or even if someone said [[File:Cball-Kosovo.png]] Kosovo is [[File:Cball-Serbia.png]] Serbia or said that [[File:Cball-Kosovo.png]] Kosovars are [[File:Cball-Serbia.png]] Serbian. Separatism would become extremely aggravated in such scenarios. 

Other than that, they get along with ideologies that want to form separate nations for their groups. This ideology often discusses self-determination and how it is a human right.
