'''Alt-Lite''', a portmanteau of "[[File:Altr.png]] [[Alt-Right]]" and "Lite" is a broad ideological label describing a set of movements which portray relatively [[File:Moder.png]] [[Moderatism|moderate]] views while still maintaining a right-wing opposition to mainstream politics. It is economically and culturally center-right to far-right, and civically variable.

Alt-Lites are generally distinguished by having a much lower interest in the issues of race as compared to Alt-Rights, usually favoring some form of [[File:Civnat.png]] [[Civic Nationalism]] or [[File:Cultural Nationalism.png]] [[Cultural Nationalism]]. Instead, Alt-Lite is usually much more concerned with over the issues of culture, economics and what is being pushed by the state.

Outside of Polcompball, "Alt-Lite" as a term has fallen out of favor, even when it was in vogue, few if any who were described as "Alt-Lite" identified with it. Here it mainly describes the new current of [[File:Conservative.png]] Conservatism.

They are found in the right side of the Political Compass, with the overwhelming majority of them being in the [[File:Authright.png]] [[:Category:Authoritarian Right|Authoritarian]] and [[File:Rightunity-yellow.png]] [[:Category:Right Unity|Right Unity]] side, with a few on the [[File:Libright-yellow.png]] [[:Category:Libertarian Right|Libertarian]] side.

==Etymology==
The term "Alt-Lite" began to be used around 2017, mostly following the aftermath of the [[File:Altr.png]] [[w:Unite_the_Right_rally|"Unite the Right" rally]] in Charlottesville, Virginia, in reference to those who had criticized the rally and tried to disassociate themselves from it. However, people within the western online right-wing held to similar views since long before then. The people who in 2017 would be associated with the Alt-Lite were associated with the 'Gamergate' controversy in 2014.
