Left-Wing Populism is an economically and (usually) culturally left-wing ideology that emphasizes the popular frustrations of the working class (e.g. lack of healthcare, poverty, unemployment) for political gain. Its proponents either advocate some form of Socialism (typically File:Demsocstar.png Democratic Socialism) or File:Liberalmarx.png Modern Radicalism File:Radlib.png. It saw a rise after the events of the Financial crisis of 2007-2008 and the Europe debt crisis, leading to movements like Occupy Wall Street. It believes that it is the only viable way to fight off File:Neoliberal-icon.png Neoliberalism and that File:Rpop-tinfoilhat.png Right-Wing Populism will only make it stronger. Like its brother, it also opposes the EU for the most part, but is usually more open to reforming it rather than abolishing it. He is the arch nemesis of File:Mesocon.png PragerU and File:Shapirocube.png Ben Shapiro.

Centre-Left Populism is a left wing ideology that is at times hard to find, as it looks similar to regular File:Lpop.png left-populists or social democrats because of its fiery rhetoric but moderate left wing policies. It is essentially populist social democracy, generally seen marching with people for things like universal healthcare and free tuition however many also take centrist positions on social issues in particular on self-ID and immigration, or might just not talk about social issues that much, in order to push for more left wing economic policies. Many are also soft euroscepts due to the European Union pushing neoliberal policies and oppose globalisation but mostly not with protective tariffs. Neil Kinnock was possibly the most famous centre left populist before converting to File:3way.png Third Way although modern politicians such as Bernie Sanders, File:TimWalz.png Tim Walz and File:JackLayton.png Jack Layton could also be described as centre left populists as they have no connection to hard left socialism, such as nationalisation or worker ownership, but are still decidedly left wing and populistic.

Egalitarianism is the uncle of File:Lpop.png Left-Wing Populism and most File:Centrist-yellow.png centrist, File:Lib.png liberal, social-democratic or File:Prog-u.png progressive ideologies other and believes that all people are equal and deserve equal opportunities. This philosophy emphasizes political, social, and economic equality. It has been a driving force behind many modern social movements, such as the File:Enlightenment.png Enlightenment, File:Fem.png feminism, File:Civlibert.png civil rights efforts, and the File:Internation.png establishment of international human rights. Egalitarianism can take various forms, including legal egalitarianism, gender equality, and racial equality. The core idea is that everyone should have equal access to resources, education, and opportunities, regardless of their background or circumstances.

It differs to regular left-populism as it may not be based upon the working class or material interests but form a broad coalition of socially and economically progressive voters to deliver change. It is also exclusively electoral meaning that while they may use a lot of protests and rallies to promote their ideals they do not attempt to overthrow governments by those but try to win elections or to pressure governments into making progressive decisions. Alexandia Ocasio-Cortez, the rest of the squad, and many Greens across the world such as Greta Thunburg are examples of progressive populism.

Communist Populism is a radical version of File:Lpop.png Left-populism, it can be Marxism-Leninism or File:Trot.png Trotskyism and File:Chavismo.png adjacent ideologies File:Soc21.png, this is because that it refers to specific styles of appealing to the masses and painting a picture of "us vs them" in context to the political establishment, bourgeoise and their realtion to the proletariat. However not all forms of socialism are populist as Communist Populism requires the mass movement to be prioritised over a Vanguard party and other elitist methods employed by various Socialist leaders such as the entryism practiced by Militant Tendency in File:UKLab.png the Labour Party from the 1960s to their expulsion in 1991. Hugo Chavez is commonly said to be a Socialist populist due to his role in the young officers coup as well as his presidential campaign in 1999 and the utilisation of charisma to create a political revolution in Venezuela and many consider to concentrate power in himself.

The Dirtbag Left is a style of left-wing politics that forgoes civility and things associated with the left-wing in the United States like identity politics and political correctness to convey left-wing populist and anti-capitalist messages. The movement has been described as anti-fascist, anti-conservative, anti-centrist, anti-inequality, and anti-liberal. It shows support for redistributive economic policies and the presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders. The media associated with the dirtbag left includes podcasts like the Chapo Trap House.

Left-Wing Euroscepticism is a version of Euroscepticism that focuses on the issues the left has with the European Union. Leftists criticize the European Union as being an undemocratic neoliberal elitist empire that has contributed to the rise of wealth inequality within Europe through the use of its austerity monetary policies and free-trade agreements. To the extent leftists oppose the European Union is seen within the ideology. Moderate socialists usually hold soft-eurosceptic views while communists and other hardline left-wing ideologies hold hard eurosceptic views. But that doesn't mean that they oppose the idea of the European Union, some support a communist version of the European Union. One of the most famous Left Euroscepts is Dennis Skinner who was the Labour MP for Bolsover from 1970 till 2019 despite this immensely long length of service he was never appointed minister by any Labour leader even in shadow cabinets due to both his radical leftism and his opposition to patronage. Though Corbyn did offer him a post to reward him for his support of his candiacy, Skinner refused. Another was Peter Shore who was a Labour candidate in several elections in the 1970s and 1980s and was known for his idiosyncratic left-wing nationalism as well as being famous for his great skills as a rhetorician.

Radical Liberal Populism is a combination of radicalism with populism which results in a highly democratic ideology it is often used to combat far-left and far-right populists in order to support and liberal democracy. It tends to be progressive and calls for a progressive tax system while also supporting moving the tax base either onto land via a Land Value Tax or onto assets with a wealth tax rather than taxing working people's incomes. Historically it has been very agrarian with support the the radical wing of the UK Liberal Party and the Jeffersonian (and later Bryanite) wing(s) of the Democratic Party in the USA, this is because small farmers are an example of working people who own their own land and business. However, despite their progressivism in land & tax reform the ideology is staunchly capitalistic so may support privatisation and the use of voucher systems instead of state control. It is generally and historically huge supporters of Free Trade however due to the rise of populism over the last decade or so many have supported a fair-trade system instead to appeal to industrial areas. Old Left-Populism is an ideology that believes in using populism to achieve socialism however they also believe that identity politics, social issues and other progressive causes alienate the working class. It is an aggressive ideology that strongly attacks capitalist, conservative and new left ideas equally claiming to be the only true representative of the proletariat. They often expose transphobic, anti-feminist and sometimes homophobic (especially when not in the West) viewpoints while pushing left-wing economic ideas such as free healthcare and full employment. An example of an old left-populist is File:George.png George Galloway and his Workers Party in the United Kingdom but it also includes File:RafaelCorrea.png Rafael Correa in Equador and File:Castillo.png Pedro Castillo in Peru before his attempted self-coup.

The Wisconsin Idea, also known as La Follette Progressivism is an File:Leftunity.png economically left and File:Prgess.png culturally left political ideology based off the Wisconsin progressive movement under Governor, Senator, and Representative File:LaFollete.png Robert M. La Follette. La Follette led a political dynasty in Wisconsin, which was continues by his sons File:DepressionMale.png Robert Jr. and File:PhilipLF.png Philip, who were Senator and Governor respectively. Wisconsin’s progressive movement saw its peak in 1924, when La Follette’s third party presidential run won nearly 17% of the national vote and carried Wisconsin.

Aspects of La Follette’s political thought included state ownership of railway, File:Farm.png cheap credit for farmers, outlawing child labor, laws promoting union interests, File:Civlibert.png protection of civil liberties, File:Antiimp.png ending American imperialism in Latin America, and a referendum before any president could lead the nation into war. La Follette initially supported the File:Cball-RSFSR-old.png Bolsheviks in the Russian Civil War, but later became File:LeftAntiCom.png anti-communist after visiting the young File:Cball-USSR.png USSR and learning of their anti-democratic tendencies.

It is important to note that this ideology is distinct from the File:NatProg.png Bull Moose Progressivism of File:TeddyRoosevelt.png Theodore Roosevelt. The progressivism of La Follette was populist in nature and appealed to Midwestern and Western farmers, while Roosevelt’s progressivism was more elitist and appealed to Eastern urbanites. La Follette was also harshly critical of Roosevelt, considering him as not adequately progressive. He was also a critic of the File:Taft.png Taft Administration. La Follette opposed both in the 1912 elections, voting for File:Sewersoc.png Socialist nominee File:Debs.png Eugene Debs (though he did not formally endorse any candidate).

The dynasty started by La Follette would go on to have multiple important members: File:DepressionMale.png Junior, File:PhilipLF.png Philip, File:1WF.png Fola and finally File:BronsonLF.png Bronson. Philip would be a governor, and found the National Progressives of America. While Junior would be a Senator, eventually killing himself (likely to avoid being investigated by McCarthy, or from depression). Bronson would be a lieutenant governor.

File:Hasanism.png Hasanism is an political ideology based off File:Twitch.png the Twitch streamer and political activist Hasan Piker affiliated with the progressive File:YoungTurks.png TYT (The Young Turks) that has garnered a repution for being an edgy "Brocialist" and File:Sanders.png "Bernie-bro." A self-described File:ProgSoc.png progressive socialist, his career started when he began interning and later being a producer with his uncle's TYT programs. File:YoungTurks.png Cenk Uygher played a significant role in launching Hasan into the media's eye despite being associated with File:Compop.png the far-left, due to his signifcant online presence/popularity and becoming a streamer building his own brand. Born in File:Cball-USA.png America and raised in File:Cball-Turkey.png Turkey, Hasan has a unique perspective on File:Nonden Muslim.png Islam. He considers himself to be a File:IslamReform.png "secular Muslim".

Hasan has a history of making controversial remarks, such as saying that File:Lpop-tinfoilhat.png "America deserved 9/11", while reacting to an interview with File:DanCrenshaw.png Dan Crenshaw, a veteran of the Iraq War who lost one of his eyes in an explosion caused by an IED. Hasan also praised File:Cball-Taliban.png the Mujahadeen soldier who planted the IED, calling him 'brave'.

Hasan became infamous for his "reaction" streams in which he broadcasted other people's File:YouTube.png YouTube videos to Twitch. During these streams he often leaves the room without pausing the video he is reacting to, letting them continue to play for his audience while he is gone. Many people whose videos were used by him without being credited, most notably File:Femboy.png Jay Exci, have called him out on Twitter for this practice.

He also got accused of oversimplification and virtual signalling for File:Mach.png grift of the Gaza conflict, the most famous one is he calls everyone who contests him "genocidal freaks". Shortly following the 2023 File:Hamas.png Hamas-led attack on File:Zio.png Israel, Hasan typically devotes portions of his streams to either reacting or his fans brigading to subreddits or ridiculing one of someone's mainstream media appearances. The reasons for this recent change of heart have sparked much speculation. While Hasan maintains he feels morally obliged to respond to Israel's defense of the military operations in Gaza, other have speculated that Hasan is seeking to capitalize on File:Twitter.png Twitter algorithm rising popularity amid several mainstream media appearances and his own dwindling Twitch and YouTube channel metrics.

In 2025, during a livestream,Hasans dog Kaya could be heard yelping in the background which many have attributed to Hasan using a shock collar in order to get Kaya to behave, This caused a massive amount of backlash and memes of Hasan shocking his dog. Old clips resurfaced of him grabbing his late dog Fish by the tail and giving him death threats. He also put a bigger predatory dog and Kaya in the same cage in another clip. Piker has denied that he used a shock collar and asserts that he used a vibration collar instead.

In 2026, Hasan went to File:Cball-Cuba.png Cuba in response to the American embargo on Cuba reaching a point where Cuba was running out of oil. In there Hasan saw the difficulties of the Cuban people. Hasan was often criticized by Liberal and Right Wing File:Mediastocracy flair.png media and File:YouTube.png YouTubers, mainly for Hasan owning a lot of luxury goods and that he was in a 5-star hotel in his visit in Cuba while the Cuban people were suffering, accusing him of hypocrisy. Hasan responded to the latter criticism stating that he could only stay at one of four hotels due to restrictions from the American government. [54] Hasan gave some aid to Cubans in his trip before returning to his home.

File:Sanders.png Sandersism is an ideology based off of the American progressive independent candidate Bernie Sanders. It is economically File:CLeft.png center-left to File:Leftunity.png left-wing, File:Lpop.png anti-establishment, File:Internation.png internationalist, File:Envi.png environmentalist, and File:Prgess.png culturally progressive. Being a File:LeftSocdem.png left-social democrat and a File:Dsa.png democratic socialist, Bernie supports strong government intervention in the economy, strong welfare programs, trade protectionism, worker co-operatives, and unions. Socially, he supports abortion rights, racial equality, feminism, File:ProDrug.png drug decriminalization, secularism, criminal justice reform, and other policies associated with the cultural left. He is associated with the File:USAProg.png Vermont Progressive Party and File:Dem-CPC.png Left-Democrats.

He has already stated in an interview that he read File:Ormarxf.png Marx, but not enough to be considered a Marxist. Its ideals are based on protecting working people of the UK as well as the environment with strong environmental regulations, salary of 10 pounds an hour, re-nationalization of vital industries and public services(rail, mail and water), increase yearly public spending by £98 Billion, Create a National Education Service, subsidizing regional development, an inclusive ownership fund for large companies, recovering losses from tax evasion and reducing tax benefits by around £93bn.

File:Podemos.png Podemos was founded thanks to the protests of the 15-M Movement, which took place from a protesting in 2011 for a more direct democracy against the two-party system of File:SpaPP.png PP and File:PSOE.png PSOE. The party ran in the 2015 Spanish general elections.

In 2016 was founded the coalition File:Unidas Podemos.png Unidos Podemos, whose name was changed to Unidas Podemos in 2019. This coalition was led by Podemos and other left-wing parties such as File:SpaIU.png Izquierda Unida, File:Ecosoc.png Alianza Verde, etc.

In the 2019 Spanish general elections, the File:PSOE.png PSOE (led by Pedro Sanchez and winner of the elections) and File:Unidas Podemos.png Unidas Podemos (led by Pablo Iglesias) made a coalition government to rule in the country, making Pablo Iglesias one of the vice presidents of File:Cball-Spain.png Spain for a certain period of time and some politicians of Unidas Podemos as ministers.

During the Madrid Assembly Elections of 2021, Pablo Iglesias decided to run as a candidate for File:Unidas Podemos.png Unidas Podemos in the Community of Madrid after resigning as Vice President of Spain. The elections ended up giving winner to the File:SpaPP.png PP with 44.76%, so Pablo Iglesias decided to retire from politics.

In 2023 the File:Unidas Podemos.png Unidas Podemos coalition suffered an electoral setback in the municipal and regional elections, so File:Podemos.png Podemos decided to run in the File:Sumar.png Sumar coalition (led by the Movimiento Sumar party, the coalition included other left-wing parties such as Izquierda Unida and Más País) for the general elections. With the result of these, negotiations between File:PSOE.png PSOE and File:Sumar.png Sumar began, File:Podemos.png Podemos criticised the lack of autonomy they were being given and rejected proposals that did not put Irene Montero as Minister of Equality. The result was worse when no Podemos member occupied a ministry. Finally, File:Podemos.png Podemos broke off relations with File:Sumar.png Sumar.

It is the heir of his legacy in Brazil; as such, it takes a lot from his ideas, like nationalism, developmentalism, File:Regulationism.png economic interventionism, and labour rights. Its most famous figures are File:Brizola.png Leonel Brizola (1922-2004), João Goulart (1919-1976), and File:Cultchrist.png Alberto Pasqualini (1901-1960).

Despite holding mostly culturally progressive views, Lula does not endorse File:AntiAntiAbortion.png abortion rights nor File:ProDrug.png drug liberalization. He has also been the de facto leader of his political party, the File:BrazilPT.png Worker's Party, since its foundation and is usually associated with other left wing populists around the world.

Sometimes may act as a File:Champagne Socialism.png champagne socialist (even though he claims those are the people he despises) and its personality is similar to that of figures like File:Nader.png Ralph Nader, File:AOC.png Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, File:Corbynism-ball.png Jeremy Corbyn, File:Chavismo.pngHugo Chavez, File:Lula.png Lula Da Silva or File:LaFranceInsoumise.png Jean-Luc Melenchon, very gruff and hot-headed but still genuinely cares for the working class and minorities, even if they're not what they expected the working class to be. He is often confrontation of what he sees as bourgeois, elitist, imperialist or white privileged takes by other leftists. He uses a million different hashtags such as; #ForceTheVote, #StopCopCity, #FreeAssange, #FreePalestine, #OccupyWallstreet, #WeAreThe99%, #BernieWouldHaveWon, #HandsOff(Insert Nation Here) #DefundThePolice, etc. He also uses #Resist but differently than File:Soclib.png Social Liberalism, As he uses it more to support Venezuela and (usually) doesn't believe in Russiagate.

He really likes Punk Rock and RATM as well as comedians like File:GeorgeCarlin.png George Carlin, File:JimmyDore.png Jimmy Dore, File:GreensUS.png Lee Camp and File:John Oliver.png John Oliver (Except his segment on Venezuela and Jill Stein). He is very paranoid about the CIA spying on and coming after him. He is also very nostalgic for the 1960s

Left-wing populism is used as a strategy in some cases, by growning socialist political parties. To bring together members from all File:Leftunity.png left-wing views, common values are emphasized and File:Pop.png pro-people discourses are adopted. File:Dsa.png DSA in the USA and File:SYRIZA.png SYRIZA in File:Cball-Greece.png Greece are left-wing populist political parties with like a File:Centrist-yellow.png left-tent structure.
